Matthew 5:18

Today's Verse

For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one stroke or one pronunciation mark shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

This verse tells us that every law and commandment God set has its meaning and value—they represent God’s disposition and authority. In the Age of Law, God used Moses to proclaim His laws and commandments, to guide man’s life on earth, so that men knew how to worship God, what sin was, what righteousness was, and more. At the same time, these laws and commandments provided the basis for the formulation of legal constitutions of later generations, and they lay the foundation for the betterment of legal systems for later generations. The commandments and laws have not only had a profound impact on human law, but have also played a critical role in the establishment and formation of moral civilization and democratic institutions in human societies. This cannot be attained by any man. These outcomes are all the manifestation of God’s authority. Just as God says, “God’s authority is everywhere, at every hour, at every instant. If heaven and earth were to pass away, His authority would never pass away, for He is God Himself, He possesses the unique authority, and His authority is not restricted or limited by people, events, or things, by space or by geography.
