Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
This verse is about the reminder and exhortation thatsaid to His apostles, and what we should abide by. When preaching the , we’ll run into all kinds of people. We need to use wise way to connect one when we’re unfamiliar with him. Wisdom is not lie, and lies come from Satan. God never asks people to lie. Just as Jehovah God urged Samuel to conceal the truth from Saul in the : “And the LORD said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill your horn with oil, and go, I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with you, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD. And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do: and you shall anoint to me him whom I name to you” (1 Samuel 16: 1-3). Jehovah God taught Samuel to anoint David by pretending to sacrifice, because God wanted to reject Saul as king and made David king. If Samuel told Saul the truth, he would be killed, and the mission of anointing David would be hindered. On the surface Samuel appeared to lie to Saul, but he had carried out God’s will—anoint David as king. Obviously, what comes from God for carrying out His will is wisdom not lie.
