Representatives present at the press conference urged the CCP government to cease its inhumane persecution of all religious groups and dissidents; they also called on the Canadian government to bring its attention to the deteriorating situation of human rights in China.
On January 29, 2019, the United States Congress’ Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission adopted a prisoner of conscience of The Church of Almighty God (CAG). Her name is Mo Xiufeng. She was sentenced to 9 years for her Christian beliefs, and is being held in prison.
During four years in prison, I am subjected to all kinds of torture by the CCP. The guidance in God’s word allows me to see clearly the essence of the CCP government, that it is God’s enemy, and which strengthens my faith in God and gives me the resolve to spend my life following God.
I have been arrested and tortured cruelly by the CCP police many times. It was the Lord’s word that gave me confidence so that I could stand testimony for Him. No matter how the CCP persecutes, I’m willing to go on preaching the gospel.
Their lost, confused, afraid, anxious, yearning and numb hearts found comfort. They were no longer doubtful or disappointed because they felt that now there was hope and something to rely on. The Son of man standing in front of them would be behind them for eternity, He would be their strong tower, their refuge for all time.
