Seize the Time: Leaving No Regrets
Nowadays, people learn from TVs, networks and newspapers that disasters happen in various regions frequently, while God’s work of saving man on earth in the last days is about to end. Yet at this critical time, when brothers and sisters preach the kingdom , some people still evade it with the excuse that they are too busy and have no time. Students say, “We have no time as we are occupied with our lessons.” Workers say, “We occupy ourselves with the work in our unit. We have no time.” Farmers say, “We have no time. We are fully busy with crops.” Businessmen say, “We are engaged in business. We have no time.” Housewives say, “We busy ourselves with housework. We have no time.” Everybody says, “I’m too busy and have no time. I’ll believe when I have time. …”
It makes me think of a short story that I heard in the past. Once a businessman had a swelling on his body, which was superficial and did not hinder what he did. So, when his wife advised him to go to the hospital for an examination, he replied that he had no time and would do it later. After six months, as the swelling grew as big as a walnut, once again his wife tried to persuade him to go to the hospital for an examination and treatment in no time, but he had the same excuse. When another six months passed, his wife urged him again and again to see a doctor, and yet he repeated what he had said. Before long, the swelling increased significantly and began to be aggravated. This time, he dared not delay. He put aside the business in his store and went to the hospital hurriedly. With a careful checkup and diagnosis, the doctor told him heavily, “You are suffering from cancer and the toxicity has spread through the whole body. Providing that you had come earlier, you would have a chance to be treated. But now it is too late. …” Hearing what the doctor said, the man was paralyzed at once like a convict who was sentenced to death. Only then did he regret that he had not seen a doctor earlier. But it was too late to repent!
In spite of a short story, people can be enlightened from it. When the leading character in the story fell ill at the very beginning, he thought it was just an indisposition, so he made an excuse that he had no time. Even many a time his wife urged him to see a doctor, but he still believed it didn’t matter, and repeated that he had no time and he would deal with it later. He had no consciousness of how serious his illness was and what consequence it would bring if it worsened. Instead, he thought it was not serious. So he delayed seeing a doctor again and again and thus missed the time for cure. Eventually, he paid a bitter price: losing his precious life and having endless remorse and regret.
It occurs to me that when brothers and sisters preach the kingdom gospel of last days. As a result, they think it doesn’t matter whether they believe in God earlier or whether they have belief in God. Is the fact really like what they consider? Let us read Almighty ., some people always say, “I’m too busy. I have no time. Let’s talk about it later.” Aren’t they the same as the leading character in the story? Man does not know the great significance of Almighty God’s work of the last days to the salvation of mankind, nor are they aware that God’s six-thousand-year management plan to save man draws near to the end, or that mankind’s sins nowadays have already surpassed those of the people in Noah’s time, so that all deserve to be destroyed, or what consequence will be if they refuse Almighty God’s work of the
Almighty God says, “Look back to the time of Noah’s ark: Mankind was deeply corrupt, had strayed from the blessing of God, was no longer cared for by God, and had lost the promises of God. They lived in darkness, without the light of God. Thus they became licentious by nature, abandoned themselves to hideous depravity. Such men could no longer receive the promise of God; they were unfit to witness the face of God, nor to hear the voice of God, for they had abandoned God, had cast aside all that He had bestowed upon them, and had forgotten the teachings of God. Their heart strayed farther and farther from God, and as it did, they became depraved beyond all reason and humanity, and became increasingly evil. Thus they came ever closer to death, and fell under the wrath and punishment of God” (“God Presides Over the Fate of All Mankind” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). “When humanity was full of corruption and disobedient toward God to a certain extent, God had to, because of His disposition and His essence, and in accordance with His principles, destroy this humanity. But because of God’s essence, He still pitied mankind, and even wanted to use various ways to redeem mankind so they could continue to live. Instead, man opposed God, continued to disobey God, and refused to accept God’s salvation, that is, refused to accept His good intentions. No matter how God called to them, reminded them, supplied them, helped them, or tolerated them, man did not understand or appreciate it, nor did they pay attention. In His pain, God still did not forget to give man His maximum tolerance, waiting for man to turn around. After He reached His limit, He did what He had to do without any hesitation. In other words, there was a specific time period and process from the moment God planned to destroy mankind to the official start of His work in destroying mankind. This process existed for the purpose of enabling man to turn around, and was the last chance God gave to man. So what did God do in this period before destroying mankind? God did a significant amount of reminding and exhorting work” (“God’s Work, God’s Disposition, and God Himself I” in Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh). “My final work is not only to punish man but to arrange the destination of each. Moreover, it is to receive acknowledgement from all for all that I have done. …Without My existence, mankind can only perish and suffer the invasion of plagues. None will ever again see the beauteous sun and moon or the green world; mankind shall encounter only the frigid night and the inexorable valley of the shadow of death. I am mankind’s only salvation. I am mankind’s only hope and even more, I am He on whom the existence of all mankind rests. Without Me, mankind will immediately become stagnant. Without Me, mankind will suffer catastrophe and be trod upon by all manner of ghosts …” (“You Ought to Do Enough Good Deeds to Prepare for Your Destination” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). Mankind of today pursues worldly trends, detests the truth, esteems evil and does not worship the real God like the people in Noah’s time. When Almighty God visits His work of the last days upon mankind, they are not concerned about His coming and how He saves them. Instead, they live in sin, enjoy the pleasure of sin without repentance. God looks upon all lands and mankind’s filth and corruption. comes to earth in the last days to do the work of judgment beginning with the house of God upon the foundation of the Lord ’ work of redemption under the name of Almighty God, expressing all the truths for man to be saved to judge and purify man. Almighty God is the returned , who has come to conclude the old evil age which has been corrupted by Satan for thousands of years. Because God’s substance is holy, He does not allow any filth or unrighteous things to exist. But at the same time, God loves humans and is merciful toward them and He cannot bear to see man created by His own hands struck by disasters. So, He gives man the opportunity to repent as much as He can before destroying mankind. However, the opportunity is not infinite but finite. Just as when God destroyed the world with the flood, God told Noah ahead of time that He would send down a great flood to destroy the world as it was full of wickedness and corruption. He commanded Noah to make an ark and to preach the gospel. Then Noah preached the gospel for 120 years, but nobody believed in what he said. Hence, God destroyed the world with the flood when His day came. Today, in the last days, humans are as evil as the people in Noah’s time that very few people seek the true way or yearn for the light. And the sins of all mankind have already reached God’s eyes, which are unbearable for Him to witness. So God will destroy the world. Similarly, before unleashing the destruction upon the world, God will still give the time for man to repent and turn around to Him through preaching the gospel, so that people will have a chance to hear His word. If people return to Him when hearing His words, they will be able to gain God’s salvation and to receive His care and protection. On the contrary, if they refuse to accept Almighty God’s work of the last days and do not return to Him to accept His salvation, they will weep and gnash their teeth in the disasters when God’s work concludes.
It is a fact obvious to all that now all sorts of disasters take place continually and spread more and more widely, which means the deadline given by God is approaching. Now it is the very time for Almighty God’s work of the last days to come to an end. If man still rejects it, saying, “I’m very busy. I have no time. Mention it later,” then it is man himself that will suffer losses finally. Almighty God says, “The work of God is like mightily surging waves. No one can detain Him, and no one can halt His footsteps. Only those who listen carefully to His words, and who seek and thirst for Him, can follow His footsteps and receive His promise. Those who do not shall be subjected to overwhelming disaster and deserved punishment” (“God Presides Over the Fate of All Mankind” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).
