Overcomer – Animated Short Film- God Loves Us

This was Spangler Scribbles’ first animated short film. It touched on her anxiety and depression a couple years ago. She thanked God for leading her through those dark times, and hoped that this film would impact others in a positive way.

After watching this short film, I can’t help but be overcome with emotion. Under the current education system, it seems that children are only judged by their marks and skills. If they get high marks and have special skills, they are considered clever, otherwise, they are labeled stupid and being left out. So like the past protagonist, a great many of children are tightly bound by the so-called criterions of judging the capabilities of children, thereby losing their smiles of innocence and liveliness and losing their beautiful childhood. Some even close themselves off because of this.

I remember the Bible says, “Casting all your care on him; for he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

Only by relying on God can we have peace and joy, because God loves us. At this time, I can’t help but think of a passage of God’s word I’ve read before, and I am very inspired by it. So I’d like to share with you. God’s word says, “Sometimes people will see an insect, one which is very ugly, and they will say, ‘That insect is so horrible, there’s no way such an ugly thing could have been made by God—there’s no way He would create something so ugly.’ What a foolish view! What they should say is, ‘Though this insect is so ugly, it was made by God, and so it must have its own unique purpose.’ In the thoughts of God, He intended to give each and every appearance, and all sorts of functions and uses, to the various living things He created, and so none of the things God made were cut from the same mold. From their exterior to their internal composition, from their living habits to the location that they occupy—each is different. Cows have the appearance of cows, donkeys have the appearance of donkeys, deer have the appearance of deer, and elephants have the appearance of elephants. Can you say which is the best looking, and which is the ugliest? Can you say which is the most useful, and the existence of which is the least necessary? Some people like the way elephants look, but no one uses elephants to plant fields; some people like the way lions and tigers look, for their appearance is the most impressive amongst all things, but can you keep them as pets? In short, when it comes to all things, man should defer to the authority of the Creator, which is to say, defer to the order appointed by the Creator to all things; this is the wisest attitude. Only an attitude of searching for, and obedience to, the original intentions of the Creator is the true acceptance and certainty of the authority of the Creator. It is good with God, so what reason does man have to find fault?” In God’s eyes, all things are perfect, and they are all playing each of their roles and have the value of their existence. God loves us the most. So we don’t need to pay much attention to how others treat us, or live in inferiority. We should obey God’s sovereignty and hold courageous and optimistic attitude about ourselves.
