November 24, 2017 – Jonah 3:1-2

And the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the preaching that I bid you.

– Jonah 3:1-2

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

The wickedness of the people of Nineveh had reached the eyes of God, God still gave them forty days to repent and ordered Jonah to pass on His words. When Jonah disobeyed the order and was unwilling to go to Nineveh, God created environment to discipline Jonah, and made him change his mind and be willing to go to Nineveh to spread the news. From this we can see God’s true love to mankind. Although we humans have been deeply corrupted and full of sin, the Creator always cares for us.
