The Lord Jesus performed a lot of miracles during His work, yet He always told people not to tell others. What’s God’s will in it?
Being Fat No Longer Bothers Me
I’m quite sturdy, even in my childhood. At that time, I often arm wrestled with others and won, in which I took much pride. As I grew up, I found people around me looked at me differently, not with admiration but with despisal. When I passed by them, they would point at and discuss about me. Even my best friends often said to me, “You’re so fat. Why not go on a diet? Don’t you know all our classmates look down upon you?” When hearing this, I felt a heart-piercing pain. After entering the junior high school, I was more bothered about my overweight. My classmates all called me “fat.” Whenever I heard that, I would beat them. But my doing so still couldn’t change the fact of my being fat. All that I could do was to hide myself in a corner and weep silently. From then on, I made up my mind to lose weight. I only had one meal per day and took more exercise. Later, I saw weight-loss advertisements on TV, and then bought those drugs and instruments. Because I suffered from a diarrhoea whenever I took the drugs, and because I took exercise ceaselessly, soon with insufficient strength I couldn’t hold on. However, no matter how hard I tried, I was still overweight. Bothered by this problem, I lost hope for life and felt very painful and helpless. I was overwhelmed by the despisal and cold-shoulder of my classmates and friends and was about to collapse. Right at this time, one of my relatives preached God’s end-time work to me. After reading , I understood why I have such a figure and appearance. All this is predestined by God and beyond our choice. says, “Since the creation of the world, I have predestined and chosen this group of people, that is, you of today. Your disposition, qualities, appearance, and stature, the family you were born into, and your job and marriage, your everything, even the color of your hair, the color of your skin, and the time of your birth, are all arranged by My hand. Even what you will do and what kind of people you will meet every day are also arranged by My hand. How much more is it arranged by Me that you have been brought before Me today. Do not disturb yourself but go forward unperturbedly.” (from The Word Appears in the Flesh) From , I knew my figure, appearance, stature, the family I was born into, even the color of my hair are in the hand of God and can’t be chosen by myself. After this realization, I no longer fight against my fate but submit to God’s orchestration and arrangement. When classmates ridicule me as fat, I tell them with a smile, “Though I’m fat, I know God’s orchestration through it. This is a blessing to me.” God’s word gives me the courage to live. I’m no longer bothered and regain my past confidence.
