The Lord Jesus performed a lot of miracles during His work, yet He always told people not to tell others. What’s God’s will in it?
A Selected Passage from “Do You Know God’s Love For Mankind?”
“In God’s work this time, some of his words are indeed disagreeable, and they even directly pierce man’s heart and make man distressed. Some words of judgment seem to stick labels on man, or revile man. In fact, they all are spoken against actual backgrounds; they are completely in accordance with the truth of the facts and are not exaggerated. God speaks according to man’s corrupt substance, which man will know after a period of experience. God’s purpose of speaking these words is to transform man and save man, and only by speaking in this way can he achieve the best results. You should see that God’s thoughtful kind intention is completely to save man and what it manifests is all . Whether it be judged from God’s working wisdom, from the steps and the ways of his working, from the length of the time of his working, or from his precise arrangements and plans, there is his love in it. For example, everyone loves their children, and in order for their children to take the right way, they all have spent much effort. When finding their child’s shortcomings, if they use soft words, they are afraid that he will not listen and will not be changed, but if they use too heavy words, they are afraid that the child’s self-esteem will be hurt and he cannot bear. So, it is all directed by love that they have spent much effort. You children may all have experienced parents’ love. Not merely being gentle and considerate is love, but severe chastening is even more love. In treating mankind, God is even more directed by love. It is because he has love that he does his utmost to save corrupt mankind. He does not just treat it perfunctorily, but plans it precisely, and does it by steps. Of the time, the place, the tones of his speaking, the ways of his speaking, the effort he has spent…, it can be said that none is not the expression of his love. Each is sufficient to show that his love for mankind is boundless and measureless….”
