How Can You Tell the Difference Between the True Christ and False Christs?

The Relevant Words of God Are as Follows:

God become flesh is called Christ, and so the Christ that can give people the truth is called God. There is nothing excessive about this, for He possesses the substance of God, and possesses God’s disposition, and wisdom in His work, that are unattainable by man. Those who call
themselves Christ, yet cannot do the work of God, are frauds. ‘Christ’ is not merely the manifestation of God on earth, but instead, the particular human form assumed by God as He carries out and completes His work among man. This human form is not one that can be replaced by just any man, but one that can adequately bear God’s work on earth, and express the disposition of God, and well represent God, and provide man with life. Sooner or later, those fake Christs will all fall, for although they claim to be Christ, they possess none of the substance of Christ. And so I say that the authenticity of Christ cannot be defined by man, but is answered and decided by God Himself.”

复活后的耶稣与人吃饼讲经 Jesus eats bread and teaches the scriptures after resurrection_

He who is God’s incarnation shall hold the substance of God, and He who is God’s incarnation shall hold the expression of God. Since God becomes flesh, He shall bring forth the work He must do, and since God becomes flesh, He shall express what He is, and shall be able to bring the truth to man, bestow life upon man, and show man the way. Flesh that does not contain the substance of God is surely not the incarnate God; of this there is no doubt. To investigate whether it is God’s incarnate flesh, man must determine this from the disposition He expresses and the words He speaks. Which is to say, whether or not it is God’s incarnate flesh, and whether or not it is the true way, must be judged from His substance. And so, in determining whether it is the flesh of God incarnate, the key is to pay attention to His substance (His works, His words, His disposition, and many more), rather than external appearance. If man sees only His external appearance, and overlooks His substance, then that shows man’s ignorance and naivety.”

from “Preface” to The Word Appears in the Flesh

The incarnated God is called Christ. Christ is the flesh the Spirit of God is clothed with, and this flesh is different from any fleshly man. The difference is because Christ is not of flesh but is the embodiment of the Spirit. He has a normal humanity and full divinity, and his divinity is something that no man has. His normal humanity is for maintaining all his normal activities in the flesh, and his divinity is for doing God’s own work. Both his humanity and his divinity obey the will of the heavenly Father. The substance of Christ is Spirit, that is, divinity, so his substance is the substance of God Godself. This substance will not disrupt his own work, and he cannot possibly do anything that demolishes his own work or say anything that goes against his own will. …

Although in the flesh Christ represents God Godself and personally does the work God Godself ought to do, he does not deny the existence of the God in heaven and does not widely proclaim his own deeds but humbly hides himself in the flesh. Those other than Christ who claim to be Christ do not have Christ’s attributes at all. By making a comparison with the arrogant and self-exalting disposition of the false christs, you will know what kind of flesh is Christ. The more a person is a false christ, the more he will exhibit himself, and the more he will perform signs and wonders to deceive people. He who is a false christ does not have God’s attributes, and he who is Christ does not have any element of a false christ. God is incarnated only for the purpose of completing his work in the flesh and not just for people to see him. He lets his work prove his identity and lets his manifestation prove his substance. His substance is not spoken about without a basis, and his identity is not usurped by himself but is determined by his work and his substance. …

Christ’s work and Christ’s expression determine his substance. He can carry out the commission on his shoulders with a true heart, he can worship the God in heaven with a true heart, and he can seek the will of God the Father with a true heart. All these are determined by his substance. All his natural manifestation is also determined by his substance. The reason why it is called natural manifestation is that what he expresses is not imitation, not the result of man’s education, not the result of years of man’s training, not something acquired by himself, and not something he adorns himself with, but something he originally has.”

from “The Substance of Christ Is Obeying the Will of the Heavenly Father”
in The Word Appears in the Flesh

If now there appears a man who can perform signs and wonders, drive out demons, heal the sick, and perform many miracles and he claims to be Jesus who has come, it is the counterfeit of an evil spirit and is done by an evil spirit in imitation of Jesus. Remember one point! God does not repeat his work. The stage of Jesus’ work has been accomplished, and God will never do that stage of work again. What God does simply does not fit man’s notions. For example, it was prophesied in the Old Testament that Messiah would come, but Jesus came. If another Messiah had come, it would have been wrong. Jesus has come once; if ‘Jesus’ came again this time, it would be wrong. One age, one name, and each name is typical of its age. In people’s notions, God should always perform signs and wonders, should always heal the sick and drive out demons, and should always be like Jesus. This time God will by no means do so. If in the end time God still performed signs and wonders and drove out demons and healed the sick, doing exactly the same as Jesus did, then God’s work would be repeated, and Jesus’ work would be meaningless and worthless. So God does one stage of work in one age. Every time after God does a stage of work, evil spirits will imitate it immediately. After satan follows in the wake of God, God will work in another way. After God finishes a stage of work, evil spirits will imitate it. You should be clear about this.”

from “Knowledge About God’s Present Work”
in The Word Appears in the Flesh

Some men were possessed by evil spirits and kept shouting, ‘I am God!’ But they could not stand in the end, because they represented wrongly and what they represented was satan. The Holy Spirit paid no attention to them. However high you speak and however loud you shout, you are still a created being and are of satan. I never shout, ‘I am God. I am God’s beloved Son!’ But what I do is God’s work. Do I need to shout? There is no need to be exalted. God Godself does his own work, and he does not need man to give him a position or a respectful title. His work represents his identity and position. Wasn’t Jesus also God Godself before he was baptized? Wasn’t he also God’s incarnated flesh? Was he God’s only begotten Son only after he was testified? Wasn’t there already the man named ‘Jesus’ before he did the work? You cannot bring a new way, and you cannot represent the Spirit, cannot express the work of the Spirit or express the word of the Spirit, cannot do the work of God Godself or do what the Spirit does, and cannot express God’s wisdom, wonderfulness, or unfathomableness, or any of God’s disposition by which he chastises man, so no matter how you claim to be God, it is useless, and you only have the name but do not have the substance. When God Godself comes, no one knows him, but he continues to do his work and does the work on behalf of the Spirit. It is all right whether you call him a man, call him God, call him Lord or Christ, or call her a sister, but the work he does is the work of the Spirit and represents the work of God Godself. He does not care what man calls him. Could it determine his work? No matter what you call him, speaking from God’s side, he is the incarnated flesh of God’s Spirit, represents the Spirit, and is approved by the Spirit. You cannot bring the way of the new age and cannot end the old age, open a new age, or do a new work, so you cannot be called God!”

from “The Mystery of Incarnation (1)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh

If someone says that he is God Godself, but he cannot express what divinity is, cannot do the work of God Godself, and cannot represent God, he is undoubtedly not God, because he does not have God’s essence and what God is able to do does not exist in him.”

from “The Difference Between the Ministry of the Incarnated God and the Duty of Man”
in The Word Appears in the Flesh

Aren’t some of the false christs, false prophets, and deceivers also called God? Why are they not God? Because they cannot do God’s work. They are men and deceivers, not God, so they do not have God’s identity.”

The Man’s Fellowship for Reference:

We who experience God’s end-time work have clearly seen such a fact: Each time God does a new work, satan and all kinds of evil spirits will follow in his wake and imitate and counterfeit God’s work to deceive people. Jesus healed the sick and drove out demons, and satan and evil spirits also heal the sick and drive out demons. The Holy Spirit bestowed to people tongues, and evil spirits also direct people to speak in the so-called ‘tongues’ that no one understands. However, although satan and evil spirits can do various kinds of things to cater to various needs of people, and can perform some supernatural things to deceive people, yet as they do not have any truth, they can never bestow to people the truth. By this alone we can distinguish between the true Christ and false christs.

God’s Spirit is realized in the flesh, working in a humble and hidden way, tasting all sufferings of the world, without any complaint. Christ as he is, he never shows off or boasts of himself, much less does he stand in a high position or is he opinionated, which completely reflects God’s nobleness and holiness. This reveals the substance of God’s incomparably honorable life and shows that he is exactly the embodiment of love. The working of all kinds of false christs and evil spirits are completely opposite to that of Christ. Evil spirits always shout first that they are Christ, saying that anyone who does not listen to them cannot enter into the kingdom. They try every possible means to make people see them, and they advertise, show off, and boast of themselves, or perform some signs and wonders to deceive people. After people are deceived and accept them, because they receive no supply of the truth for a long time, they collapse silently. There are too many such cases. Because the false christs are not the truth, the way, and the life, they do not have the way. Those who follow them will be ashamed sooner or later, and it will be too late for them to repent at that time. So, the most important thing is to make certain that only Christ is the truth, the way, and the life, the false christs absolutely do not have the truth, and the various kinds of evil spirits absolutely do not have the truth. No matter how many words they have spoken or how many books they have written, there is not any truth in them. This is for sure. Only Christ can express the truth. To discern by this is most crucial. Besides, Christ never forces people to accept him or acknowledge him. Those who believe in him become more and more clear about the truth, and the path becomes brighter and brighter as they walk. This proves that only Christ can save people, because Christ is the truth. The false christs can only speak some words of imitation and words of confounding black and white, and they do not have any truth; they can bring people nothing but darkness, disasters, and the working of evil spirits.”

from “Preface” to The Dissection of the Cases of False Christs and Antichrists Deceiving People

How to discern false christs? This is very simple. You may say, ‘Well, tell me why you are Christ and what God has and is. If you cannot tell, it is all right to write some. Write some words expressed by divinity. Write some for me. You may be able to imitate a few words of humanity. Speak a few more words; can you preach to me for three hours? Fellowship with me about the truth for three hours, and tell me about what God is and this stage of work of God. Make these clear to me. You may try. If you cannot tell, you are a fake, and you are an evil spirit. The true Christ can preach to you for days. The true Christ has expressed more than one million words, yet he has not finished his words. There is no end to his words. He can preach at any time and in any place. His words are words no human being in the world can write. Can one without divinity write these words? Can he speak these words? You, a false christ, do not have divinity and do not have God’s Spirit within; how can you speak God’s words? Even if you can imitate a few words, how many minutes can those few words take? Any man has brain and can recite a few words. Preach to me for one hour, and fellowship with me about the truth for two hours. You may try.’ If you are serious with him, he will be revealed and be dumbfounded. Then he will turn away and flee, won’t he? Don’t you think so? You may say to him, ‘Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. Just express the truth of Christ for me to listen and see. If you can express it, I will say you are Christ; if you cannot, you are an evil spirit!’ It is very easy to discern the true Christ and false christs. False christs do not have the truth, and antichrists do not have the truth. Whoever has the truth is Christ; whoever does not have the truth is not Christ. Isn’t it so? You say, ‘If you cannot express what Christ is or express what God is, you are cheating others in saying you are Christ. Christ is the truth. You may express the truths. Let me see how many you can express. If you copy a few words, they are not expressed by you. They are copied by you, usurped by you, and imitated by you.’ Just discern in this way. … Let me tell you a fact, that is, how God appeared. When God worked in the beginning, he did not say he is God; he did not say that. God expressed a great many words. When he had expressed several hundred thousand words, he still did not say he is God. Several hundred thousand words, a book, with three to four hundred pages. He still did not say he is God. Some people were inspired and enlightened by the Holy Spirit, saying, ‘Ah, this is God’s word, and this is the utterance from the Holy Spirit!’ In the beginning it is considered the utterance from the Holy Spirit; later, it is regarded the utterance from the seven Spirits, the utterance from the sevenfold intensified Spirit, called ‘the utterance from the seven Spirits’ or ‘the word of the Holy Spirit.’ In the beginning people thought this way. Later, after God spoke a great many words, speaking several hundred thousand words, he began to testify what is incarnation and what is the Word appearing in the flesh. Only at that time did people come to realize, ‘Ah! God has been incarnated! The one who speaks to us is the incarnated God!’ You see, God works in a humble and hidden way. After God had expressed all his words, all the words he ought to express, when he worked and preached, he still never said he is God and never said ‘I’m God. You must listen to my word.’ He never said that. But how about false christs? Before they say a few words, they say they are Christ; doesn’t this show they are fake? The true God is humble and hidden, and he never shows off himself; satan and evil spirits, however, love to show off themselves. From this aspect, we can also discern them.”

from “Answers to Questions”
in Fellowship and Preaching About Life Entering In (1)

Now, if someone tries to deceive you, you should see whether he can express God’s voice. By this you can ascertain whether he has the divine substance. If he cannot speak about what God has and is and cannot express God’s things or God’s voice, he surely does not have God’s substance, and then he is a fake. Some say: We see that the words of some people are also words man cannot speak and they can also speak prophecies and can make clear the things man does not know and man cannot see; are they God or not? How do you discern this? As I have just said, if he is God, he should be able to speak about what God has and is and tell the mysteries of God’s kingdom. Only such one can be said to be God incarnate. If someone can tell things man does not know, tell things concerning a man’s future, tell things which will happen to a country in the future, they are not necessarily God’s words. Evil spirits also can do that. For example, you ask him today, ‘What things will happen to me in the future?’ He tells you what disasters will happen to you, or when you will die, or what things will happen to your family. There are many such things which are fulfilled. But his being able to tell such things is not what God is and is not within the scope of God’s work. You should see this clearly. They are trifles evil spirits love to be concerned with; God does not do such things. What work does God do each time he is incarnated? What God does is the work of saving mankind; he does not prophesy what a man will be like in the future, at what age he will die, how many children he will have, and when he will suffer disasters. Has God prophesied these? God does not prophesy these. Then does God know these things or not? God knows them very clearly, because the heavens and the earth and all things were created by God. Only God knows them most clearly, but what evil spirits know is limited. What do evil spirits know? Evil spirits know the destiny of a man, the destiny of a country, and the destiny of a race, but they do not know the things about God’s management, do not know what the outcomes of mankind will be, and do not know where the real destination of mankind will be, much less know when the world will end, when God’s kingdom will descend, and what beautiful prospect will be in the kingdom in the future. They know none of these, and no evil spirit knows them. Only God knows such things. So God is omniscient; what all evil spirits know is too limited. We know that the greatest prophet in the world had told the things which would happen in the end time, and now these things have all been fulfilled. But he did not know what work God would do in the end time, much less know what God would come to accomplish, how the Millennial Kingdom would be realized, and which people would be able to enter God’s kingdom and be left alive, and much less know the things in God’s kingdom. These things no evil spirit knows, and only God Godself knows. So, concerning the things about God’s management plan, evil spirits can know nothing. If you ask, ‘What will my destiny be like? What will the conditions of my family be like?’, some evil spirits may tell you clearly. But if you ask them, ‘Will I, believing in God, have a destination in the future? Will I be left alive?’, they do not know. What evil spirits know is too limited. If an evil spirit tells some limited things, can it be God? No. It is just an evil spirit. When an evil spirit can tell things man does not know, tell things concerning a man’s future, and even tell what he was like and what things he had done, if some people think it is really divine, aren’t such people too absurd? It proves that you are too ignorant of God. You consider that little skill of an evil spirit as too divine and treat it as God. Do you know about God’s almightiness? Therefore, if today we have knowledge of God’s almightiness and of God’s work, no evil spirit, whatever signs and wonders it performs, can deceive us, because there is at least one thing we can ascertain: the evil spirit is not the truth, it cannot do God’s work, it is not the Creator, it cannot save mankind, and it can only corrupt mankind.”
